CodeMash Conference is a non-profit IT conference located in Sandusky Ohio
At CodeMash, I was brought on to the volunteer committee as the director of marketing in 2023. I began by spending time reaching out to speakers of the convention, coordinating marketing collaborations with them, starting up our LinkedIn page.
Then, I created graphics and content to post and started to develop my marketing plan. Our LinkedIn started at 0 followers and is now at almost 400. At the conference, I took over 3,000 pictures throughout the week, and ran various marketing efforts on my own such as posting updates through the convention on social medias, taking and editing headshots of speakers at the convention, tracking analytics, and a lot more.
This was and is a volunteer passion project for me, since I have always enjoyed CodeMash and remember going to the kids events when I was younger.
Below are some descriptions of the work I have done for CodeMash so far -
Design - I designed various marketing materials such as social media posts, postcards for sponsors, speaker highlights, and more.
Photography - I took over 3,000 photos at the 2023 CodeMash conference to use for marketing in the 2024 year, and created a Lightroom photo album for CodeMash. These photos included general event photos, professional headshots, volunteer photos, and much more.
Travel - I traveled to the Sandusky, OH conference center each year (since 2021) to assist in general operations, and in 2023 assist in marketing operations. This was a week long overnight stay at the conference center. In 2023 I assisted in communications during the conference, posted updates to social media throughout the conference, took thousands of pictures, ran professional headshots, captured video content, interviewed speakers and attendees about their experience, and more.
Leadership - I led (and am currently leading) creative marketing for the CodeMash conference. This includes running social media with the goal of further solidifying branding, reaching out to sponsors to increase funds, lots of various content creation, and again... more!
